    Starting My #DebtFree Journey

I won’t lie to you. This is the most humbling, terrifying, exposing thing I will ever put on the Internet. Ever. There’s a large part of me that says “don’t do it. You’ll mess up future employment, friends will judge you, family will be angry at you.” So I’ve been staring at this editor for a few hours, just thinking. Chances are, I won’t even think of a catchy SEO title for this post until I’m just about to send it. Some information before I share what you really came here to see. I’m 28 years old, I will be 29 in June. I have a Bachelor of Science degree…

    Life Update

Broken record, coming at you. Thank you all so much for your support and kind words on Monday’s blog post. For anyone out there in a similar boat, just know I’m in your corner and I’m here for you! So aside from the financial life update that was Monday’s post, I figured it’s been a while so I should fill you in on some things happening in and around my life as of late. Rocket Raccoon isn’t that cute Two weeks ago, I heard some scratching on the one corner of my roof. We have stray cats, so I thought it may have been one sharpening it’s claws. Cut to…

Crossing off my 30 before 30 List

You’ve probably seen the 30 before 30 list twenty-something bloggers make. These bucket list items that we think ‘By 30, I want to accomplish X’. Goal setting is extremely important, and it’s one thing I’m trying to get better at. Not just saying ‘I want to make lots of money’, but actually putting a plan around it. But that’s another post for another time. What I want to share with you is this, my 30 before 30 list (which isn’t actually 30 items because I guess I wasn’t creative enough). I found this the other day while cleaning out my desk at work. I had too many files and papers…

Christmas Gifts for the Girl Who Has Everything

Ah yes, that time of year where everyone is getting in the festive spirit – and also freaking out about what to get their girlfriend/best friend/sister/mother/cousin/sister-in-law/coworker. You probably know this girl, the one who isn’t afraid to treat herself every so often. The one who enjoys shopping and has lots of stuff. The girl who has everything. I am that girl, sadly. I know I’m difficult for my friends and family to shop for, because if I want something, I’ll buy it for myself. So when it comes time for Christmas gifts, they’re stuck as to what to get me! Here’s a few items I’ve put together you can splurge (or save!)…

    Currently Reading

For me, reading is something I do to learn, not necessarily entertainment. I get my entertainment from video games mostly, and then movies and TV shows. So it should be no surprise that my favorite genre is self-help, personal growth, non-fiction type books. I love learning more about myself and others, so I gravitate towards books that help me better understand people and how we tick. Okay, enough blabbing – here’s what I’m currently reading! Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin If the author’s name sounds familiar to you, it’s because Rubin is the author of The Happiness Project, which was a best seller a few years ago. I read…

What is your hike? | The importance of never stopping

My favorite part of traveling is taking advantage of the outdoors wherever I visit. I’m very blessed to be able to have some free time on my work trips, and I absolutely take advantage of that. So while I was in Utah, I knew I had to enjoy the mountains with hiking. The Start I did a little research on trails and decided The Living Room Hike would be the best in terms of difficulty and time to do the hike round trip. After parking along the road and getting situated, I started the hike. The first 1/10th of a mile was fine, until I couldn’t find the path to…

    Get To Know Me

Ah, it feels good to be back writing again. Because it has been a little while, I figured I should let this post be our chance to get to know each other. Sound good? Good.   Name | Kimberly, but everyone calls me Kim. Kimberrleigh is my social media across everything, but since I let my old domain lapse, this blog is under my second handle, Kimberrleighlynn. It’s just a play on spelling of my real name. Age | 28 Location | Memphis, TN I live in East Memphis, which is a great suburb of the city. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, moved to Memphis when I was…

    I’m back!

Well well well, it’s been a while hasn’t it? I took a big long break from blogging for about a year? Two years? The blogging bug has bitten me again. This time, I’ve got a new name – pro tip: don’t let your “brand” lapse or else some random Chinese company will hold your domain hostage. Ooops. I’m excited to get back to writing posts each week. I don’t know what schedule I’ll have, but hopefully as I map out the content I want to do this week, I can have that better sorted out. For now, I can tell you that I’ve done quite a bit of work personally…
